Los Angeles for a Bachelorette Party? Yes, Please!

Are you planning a bachelorette party? Thinking of heading to the land of Hollywood, movie stars, and fun under the sun? If so, then a Los Angeles bachelorette party is the perfect choice for the bride-to-be and her guests. LA is a celebration destination with so many things to do that you won’t be bored!

But, because there are so many things to do, we turned to a Los Angeles party planning professional, Daniel Meursing, CEO and founder of Premier Staff, to get us the inside scoop on what to do and where to stay. So, let’s get right to it!

Planning Your Los Angeles Bachelorette Party

When planning a bachelorette party in LA, timing is everything. The best time to visit is from March to May. During these spring months, you’ll enjoy comfortable temperatures and fewer crowds. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or touring the streets, LA’s springtime weather is ideal for any celebration.

Budgeting for your trip is a must, with costs varying widely depending on your activities and accommodations. On average, expect to spend about $258 per person per day, which can cover everything from luxurious spa treatments to exclusive dining experiences and nightlife.

Daniel says, “Los Angeles is hands down one of the best places for an epic bachelorette party. First, you’ve got near-perfect warm, sunny weather year-round. That means you can plan a killer itinerary that includes both outdoor activities and nightlife. Trust me, after staffing hundreds of events in LA, I know the bride tribe will appreciate getting to spend time by the pool or at the beach in between the party hopping.”

Getting to Los Angeles is easiest by flying directly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). For those looking for a scenic route, consider flying into San Diego and driving approximately 120 miles north along the coast to LA. Alternatively, Amtrak offers a relaxing way to travel for those who don’t like to fly.

To make the party truly unforgettable, consider a bach party theme that leverages the unique vibes of LA. Think Hollywood glam, a vintage Beverly Hills soiree, or a laid-back beach party. Each theme can be tailored to fit the bride’s personality and ensure that her final fling is as dazzling as the city itself.

Where to Stay for LA Bachelorette Parties

“In terms of where to post up for the weekend, I always suggest that my bachelorette clients rent a fab house in either West Hollywood or Santa Monica on Airbnb or VRBO. That way your girl gang is all together and you have space to pregame and chill. Hotel-wise, The London West Hollywood, Shutters on the Beach, and the Mondrian are chic spots I’ve had great experiences with for bachelorette groups,” shares Daniel.

For those seeking a rooftop pool, the Mondrian provides a lovely patio, perfect for a lazy Sunday of relaxing before heading back to the airport. The Freehand Los Angeles also features a rooftop pool and is a great hotel choice for those not up for the high-end hotel experience.

That said, if high-end is the name of the game, consider the infamous luxurious hotel—the Beverly Hills Hotel which is conveniently located nearby Rodeo Drive.

Where Bach Parties Can Get the Best Los Angeles Eats

Of course, while you’ll be busy enjoying your LA bachelorette party weekend, be sure to take some time to indulge in the amazing food scene. Los Angeles has no shortage of great restaurants. Daniel says, “You absolutely must do a boozy brunch at either The Ivy, Catch LA for fresh seafood, The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker, or on the rooftop at Élephante Beach House if you want a great view of the Pacific Ocean.

For dinner, my go-to’s are always TAO, Nobu Malibu, Fia, or Ardor—super sexy vibes and great food. And you can’t forget the classic LA rooftop bar scene. My personal faves are Broken Shaker, Mama Shelter, and Perch. The drinks are divine and the views are straight-fire.”

If you’re interested in making a drive up the coast, head north to Malibu and get lunch at Malibu Farm. Combine this with a visit to Santa Monica Pier (be sure to get some ice cream while you are there and take a selfie on the boardwalk) and you have the perfect day trip.

The Best Places to Drink for Bachelorette Parties in Los Angeles

When heading to the City of Angels for a bachelorette weekend, one thing is for certain—you are planning to par-tay! That’s why you need to know where all the places are for the best libations—we’re talking the best traditional cocktails, craft cocktails, and craft beers around. Be sure to add the following places to your list. You won’t be disappointed.

Of course, if you want to combine great drinks with great views, one of LA’s many rooftop bars need to make it on your bachelorette party weekend itinerary. In addition to Daniel’s favorites shared earlier, be sure to check out Bar Lis or Bar Bohemien.

Nightlife and Dancing Near Los Angeles & Hollywood

If partying the night away and getting a chance to spot a celebrity is your thing, then Los Angeles and Hollywood have you covered! The nightlife scene in downtown LA and the surrounding areas is second to none.

Daniel suggests, “For some wild “we’re not in Kansas anymore” nightlife, head to the Sunset Strip and hit up clubs like Bootsy Bellows, The Peppermint Club, or Poppy – you never know who you might see there. And for a super unique night out, take the crew to Jumbo’s Clown Room. It’s a Venice landmark bikini bar with live retro-burlesque shows that will have you hootin’ and hollerin’. Always a great time.”

What Bachelorettes Do During the Day in Los Angeles

“When it comes to unique LA experiences, a wine safari at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu is always a hit (and great if you are doing some wedding planning). You cruise around the vineyard in an open-air vehicle, sip vino, and get up close with zebras and giraffes. Major photo ops!

“Another must is booking a private pole dancing class at Evolve Dance Studio – such a fun group activity to get everyone laughing and feeling themselves. And carve out time for a rejuvenating spa day, either at Ole Henriksen Face/Body Spa or The Ritz-Carlton spa. Your bride will thank you, trust me,” laughs Daniel.

Need more ideas? Check out this list of additional suggestions:

  • Snapping pics in front of the iconic Beverly Hills and Hollywood signs
  • Renting a poolside cabana at one of the hotspot hotels
  • Seeing a show at the Hollywood Bowl
  • Hitting Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice for boho boutique shopping
  • Head to Santa Monica Pier for some good old-fashioned fun in the sun
  • Bust out your map and hit the road to see if you can find how to get up close and personal with the Hollywood Sign
  • Head downtown and see how many of your favorite stars you can find on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
  • Pay a visit to one of southern California’s most iconic places—the Griffith Observatory—Adele fans may recognize this spot as the location of her recent One Night Only concert

Getting Your Bach Party Around Los Angeles

We’ll give it to you straight—Los Angeles has some of the worst traffic you’ll ever encounter. This means that renting a car and trying to navigate the hustle and bustle isn’t always the best idea. One of the best options is taking a taxi, Lyft, or Uber from the airport and then using various rideshare services to get you around town.

With some advance planning, reserving a party bus is another great option, especially for a night on the town drinking. Daniel says, “Arrange nightclub bottle service, and party bus transportation, and use a staffing service like Premier Staff rather than trying to wing it all yourself. It’s worth the spend to maximize fun and minimize stress.”

Here are some additional tips from Daniel and the team at Modern MOH to create an amazing Los Angeles bachelorette party experience.

  • Be thoughtful on who to invite as Los Angeles is not for the faint of heart. The bride-to-be and maid of honor should focus on those that the bride wants with her to celebrate her pending nuptials.
  • Lock in your lodging first, whether it’s a hotel or Airbnb. The good spots book up fast, especially during peak season.
  • Pay attention to the weather to know what to pack. Be sure to bring a couple of swimsuits and cute comfy shoes for a day spent walking around Santa Monica Pier or downtown Los Angeles.
  • Come prepared with your bachelorette party survival kit for those extended late-night celebrations once you get back to the hotel or rental property.
  • Make those dining reservations well in advance. Aim for no later than 3 weeks out if possible to secure primetime slots.
  • Plan an itinerary to keep things organized, but don’t overbook the days. Leave plenty of downtime for spontaneous adventures and recovering from the nights out.
  • Pamper the bride as much as possible – surprise her with a massage, glam squad visit, or special personalized touches throughout the weekend.
