Meet the Expert Devyn Turner is the Chief Operating Officer of AVLbash. Having lived in Asheville for several years, she knows the ins and outs of this beautiful mountain town like the back of her hand. And with her connections to local vendors who offer unique experiences that aren’t found in guidebooks, she can help create the ultimate stress-free party weekend in Asheville.
Planning An Asheville Bachelorette Party
When planning an Asheville bachelorette party, timing is key. The best times to visit? Plan for April to June or September to early November. Why? The weather’s perfect. Think upper 50s to mid-70s. Imagine walking through blooming flowers or stunning fall leaves. It’s simply beautiful.
Now, let’s talk budget. Visiting Asheville doesn’t have to break the bank. If it’s just you, expect to spend between $57 and $269 a day. For two? Double that. It’s all about what you choose to do.
Getting there is a breeze. Fly into the Asheville Regional Airport, a quick 15-minute drive from downtown. Easy peasy!
And for the cherry on top? Pick bachelorette activities that celebrate Asheville’s beauty. Think mountain vibes or an outdoorsy feel. Perfect for making memories with your bride tribe in this charming mountain town. Ready to start planning? Asheville awaits!
Where Does a Bachelorette Party in Asheville Stay?
Though you’ll likely be out and about each day on your way to this destination or that, where you stay totally matters. Devyn says, “The Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate is always a great recommendation for lodging because of their great hospitality and full access to all facilities at the Biltmore. It doubles as a calm day with beautiful attractions only ten minutes away from the nightlife experience in Asheville.”
“If vacation rentals are more your vibe,” she continues, “Irox Living also has some great Airbnbs that are perfect for people coming into town who LOVE mountain views. Those are always a joy to decorate to match your bachelorette party theme, too!”
Other options include the Omni Grove Park Inn, The Windsor Hotel, or the Grand Bohemian in Biltmore Village. The Foundry Hotel in downtown Asheville is also an amazing choice, as are the Kimpton Hotel Arras, Cambria, and the AC Hotel by Marriott.
Brooke also says, “I highly recommend booking a condo at 45 Asheland Avenue if you want a more mountain vibe. I have stayed there, and it is perfection.”
Top Bachelorette Eats in the Land of the Sky
With all the fun things to do in Asheville, make sure you take some time to eat—and trust us, in Asheville you won’t find a shortage of amazing places to try.
Devyn says, “As much as Asheville is a beer city, we are also a huge foodie town. Must-try places to eat for your time in Asheville consist of Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack, Cúrate (best place for tapas), Twisted Laurel, Daddy Mac’s Down Home Dive, Biscuit Head, Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Bar (try their grits). And, the chicken sandwiches at All Day Darling are a must-try! The pickles are to die for.”
If the bride and her tribe are into brunch, Brooke also suggests The Edison at Grove Park, Sunny Point Cafe (located in west Asheville and offering vegan dishes), or Capella on 9, which offers a rooftop bar perfect for taking in the city’s sights.
For lunch and quick bites, try Corner Kitchen or Benne on Eagle. And, if you’re looking for a fancy dinner, be sure to make reservations with Red Stag Grill or Rhubarb (downtown) or Cultura.
Last but not least, if a casual dinner is more in your stride after a long day of sight-seeing and adventure, the bride-to-be may prefer Mountain Madre, Chai Pani, Asheville Pizza & Brewing, Limones, or Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse.
Best Breweries, Wine Bars, and Craft Cocktails Locations in Asheville
When heading to Asheville for a bachelorette party, the chances are that you are going to want to enjoy some libations. We’ve got the inside scoop from the locals on where to go. “Top of the Monk is a pre-prohibition-themed lounge that is one of Asheville’s most beloved cocktail bars that serves whiskey and handcrafted cocktails with access to a rooftop patio,” says Devyn.
For the best cocktails, Brooke suggests Sovereign Remedies, Hemingway’s Cuba, and Antidote, which are all located in downtown Asheville. For breweries and the craft beer scene, try Sierra Nevada and the Mills River Taproom, Wicked Weed Brewing, Hillman Beer, Highland, and Green Man Brewery which is a local favorite.
If you’re more into the dive bar scene, try the smaller, original Green Man location or DeSoto Lounge located on the west side of Asheville. Want to take in the sights while you drink? Be sure to try the Montford Rooftop Bar.
If wine is more suited to your tastes, pay a visit to 5 Walnut Wine Bar. Finally, if you want to combine your libations with some dancing, try Ben’s Tune Up. But don’t worry, we have more recommendations for that coming!
Nightlife and Dancing for an Asheville Bach Party
Asheville has great options for brides and their gal pals who want to dance the night away. “In East AVL, you’ll find Room Nine which hosts killer nightlife with VIP tables that comfortably sit 8 to 10 people with your own server and a DJ-driven dance floor. They’re open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 PM to 2 AM which is perfect for a bach weekend,” says Devyn.
The Off the Wagon Dueling Piano Bar definitely needs to make it onto your itinerary and list of things to do if you like live music. If you’re looking for more music venues, try Salvage Station or The Orange Peel. You’ll love supporting local musicians and dancing the night away.
What Bachelorettes Do During the Day in Asheville
We hope you picked a great place to stay because you’re going to need a good night’s sleep before enjoying all the great things to do in Asheville.
We recommend that you start your day with a trip to the spa. Devyn says, “The best spa in Asheville is hands down the Shoji Spa and Retreat. Their traditional Japanese bathing and soaking in private outdoor tubs takes the experience to the next level which is so versatile, especially by being only minutes from downtown Asheville. They’ve mastered being able to make their guests relaxed and enjoy their time in the mountains.”
Another option for a spa day includes Asheville Spa & Wellness at the Omni Grove Park Inn. You may also enjoy the Asheville Salt Cave for some rest and meditation time. If you and the ladies aren’t as eager to leave your hotel, consider a mobile massage from Asheville Wellness Tours. You read that correctly—they come to you!
If yoga is more what the party calls for, we’ve got plenty of great places for that. Try the Asheville Yoga Center or Hot Yoga Asheville.
After you get in your dose of daily zen, it’s time to live it up a bit. Some must-see attractions include a visit to the Biltmore Estate, making custom candles at Hummingbird Candle Company, enjoying some “you-pick” flowers at The Never Ending Flower Farm, and taking a tour of the French Broad Chocolate Factory.
If you’re ready for something more active, try one of Asheville’s Pub Cycle Tours or tubing on the French Broad River with Zen Tubing.
Wineries in and Around Asheville
If a trip to a local winery is in order, be sure to pay a visit to the Biltmore Estate Winery. You can also sign up for wine tours that take you throughout the area. NC Wine Gals offers weekly tours departing from Asheville. If you’re open to traveling a bit further outside Asheville, the High Spirits Trail is another great choice.
While Asheville, NC, isn’t particularly known for a specific type of wine, the town sits in the broader Western North Carolina region, which has a burgeoning wine scene. The area is gaining recognition for its wineries and vineyards that produce a variety of wines, thanks to the diverse climate and terrain conducive to different grape types.
Western North Carolina, including areas around Asheville, tends to feature wines made from European-style grapes (like Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay) and native American grapes, as well as hybrids that are well-suited to the region’s climate. Wineries in the Asheville area also experiment with a range of other types, including Riesling, Merlot, and Viognier, to name a few.
Getting Around Asheville for a Bachelorette Party
“Unique ways to get around town are the LaZoom Tours comedy bus, Asheville Pub Cycle, Uber/Lyft and of course, walking! Asheville is such a walkable town which makes it convenient to travel from restaurants to breweries to shopping!” shares Devyn.
“However, we’ve found that the most enjoyable way to get around AVL is the Pedal Cab Co. It’s super easy to sightsee all the attractions and is intentionally affordable and environmentally friendly!”
Extra Tips and Suggestions for Your Asheville Bash
“Asheville is so unique for many reasons but for bachelorette groups, we always recommend getting “sparked” by Reagan Miller with Sparked with Love to remember their trip here forever,” Devyn advises. “And Asheville Jeep Tours is amazing to give tours on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Their tours range from driving only to hiking to beautiful waterfalls.”
“You can’t find another town that is as well-rounded as Asheville. AVL has everything that a group of people would want for a trip away from home including the BEST food, beer, coffee, and attractions like the Blue Ridge Parkway and The Biltmore. Asheville creates such an easy shift from day-time strolling and exploring 5-star food to the best breweries in the U.S. and so many nightlife attractions like Crave Dessert Bar where you can experience rich food and hookah,” Devyn says.
As far as packing, Devyn also says the “Asheville weather is dependent on the season but for any bach trip we always recommend bringing themed outfits for nights out! Our favorites are “RIP to My Last Name,” “Tropic Like It’s Hot,” “Final Fiesta,” and “Till Death Do Us Party.”
